Tea Auction Automation and E-auction

Public tea auctions have always played a key role as the main vehicle for primary marketing of tea in Kenya.

The e-Auction Project is expected to integrate the all Pre and Post Auction process starting from creation of invoices till the delivery of tea from the warehouses, enabling better control and avoiding duplication of work thus reducing time.

The project is envisaged to integrate all EATTA electronic processes and platform and interface them will all Stakeholders Information System in the tea industry.

Objectives
• Standardization of processes across auction Centre by
    o  Establishing a  more robust price discovery mechanism
    o  Improve time efficiency in the service delivery
    o Ensuring compliance with government/tea board/tea trade association  rules
    o Discontinuing certain practices that  had evolved over the years e.g. division of lots,
• Quantum increase in the transparency of the overall system
• Leverage emerging IT technologies available
